《China bird》 —— Simple analysis of He Da’s oil painting

Oils painter Mr. He Da’s 《China bird》series, the initial inspiration originates from the Chinese eight mountain person's traditional Chinese painting work imagination and the mood. The picture is magnificent、aloof from worldly affairs、 arrogant、deserted and sometimes lonesome。Discloses sadness and the disconsolate mood indistinctly. It also radiates the rich Chinese poetic heritage,unfolds brief、 unique、but nihility mood.
At present, He Da’s oil painting 《China bird》 series has two major kind of creative focus.
One of the creative focus is the emphasis of “small freehand brush work”, it wields and sprinkles along the drawing, When drawing lotus leaf、 grass、 branch and bird, using traditional Chinese painting small liberal style and technique, some withered vigorous、some mild、 are smooth、is exquisite. Some pigments in gumption is free flow seepage, adds brush mark melodious, causeing the branch cleanly and powerful, the bird feather is rich,lifelike。Some utilization similar traditional Chinese painting's hatchet divides texture strokes brush mark, during the brush mark change of brush stroke 、scratches、stippling、and dyeing, handy, things have their order of priority, the picture has rhythm .This group of paintings, the hands glides along with his heart, they have excellent writings, they change excessively but still obey the rythem of nature, produce the shade similar to actual situation.

Then, He Da puts on several twinkles of high light on bird's body or background, and the picture becomes translucent and bright. This group of pictures, deducts the new image by the object, it has purified, strengthened the tradition flower-and-bird paintings, produced a more intense feeling.
In entire 《China bird》series, the background of the picture presents a dim view , Gentle but bright, is similar to layer upon layers of coat on nature , appears nihility and illusory. But in some pictures, they also indistinctly show the human body general sentiment color illusory image, keeps on migration. Such careful processing, then entrusts the picture with typical contemporary vision and psychedelic feeling, going a step further, it brings out the birds, the branches, and the leaves in the foreground with vivid color and images, also implies one kind of desire impulsion, strengthened the multi-dimensional train of thought and esthetic grasping. Entire picture is relaxed and free , rhythmiccoherent ,pencraft、color 、modelling appears as an unified entity, has forms a coherent body.
He Da’s 《China bird》series, the pictures reference “The big-eight” in a succinct 、refine and intense schema, actually uses the western oil painting to present ancient Chinese painting style, expresses the feelings through elaborate paint processing, put a new explaination to traditional artistic expression, and obtain a new style of estheticism、emotion and significance.
He Da’s 《China bird》series of pictures extend the significance of:
1. Bird in a person, person in a bird. The bird is like a wise man ,the frame of mind is arrogant,
is lonely with a callous look, builds a “looks at the world indifferently” impression.
2. Facing the past、the present and the future, filled with complex and the contradictory mood.
Restless. Pacing back and forth. Being at a loss. Calm. Rational and self-entertaining.
3. Use flower、bird、grass、insect as the theme,common in Chinese tradition drawing.In these pictures, has the obvious Chinese drawing element and contemporary China writer's complex,
therefore he names it —— 《China bird》.
